NEWARK: Marsha Ann (Sawyer) Washburn, 57, passed away on February 10, 2025, in Newark, New York. Born on December 12, 1967, in Sodus, New York, she lived a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion to her family and friends.

Marsha dedicated nearly four decades of her life to Wegmans, where she worked from 1986 until her passing. She was known for her hard work and the joy she brought to those around her. Her mischievous spirit and love for pranks made her a beloved presence among her colleagues.

Beyond her career, Marsha found happiness in the simple joys of life. She loved spending time with friends and family, gardening, and being outdoors. Marsha’s strength was matched by an unwavering sense of humor and a deep love for those closest to her. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and daughter-roles she embraced wholeheartedly.

Marsha is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Christopher; her daughter, Angeline (Jason) VanHalle; her mother, Janice Sawyer; and her siblings Katherine Johnson, Brenda Kelley, Sandra (Gordon) Ingram, Phillip Sawyer Jr. and Crystal (Joseph) Button; grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Amber Washburn; her father, Phillip Sawyer Sr.; and her brother, Johnny Sawyer.

The family will greet friends from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 W. Miller St, Newark.

Marsha’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her laughter, kindness, and playful spirit will never be forgotten.
