NEWARK: David R Wilck, 62, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2024.

The family will greet friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, December 9, 2024, at Woodlane Community Church, 5694 Wood Ln, Newark, NY 14513. David’s funeral service will follow visitation at Woodlane Community Church. The burial will be in East Palmyra Cemetery followed by a luncheon at East Palmyra Fire Department.

David Wilck was born to Roy and Mary E. (Brewer) Wilck on Friday, September 21, 1962, in Lyons, NY. A lifelong resident of the area, he graduated from Newark High School in the Class of 1980 and went on to study Tool and Die at the Rochester Institute of Technology. David dedicated over 38 years to a successful career as a production manager at Jrlon, Inc. in Palmyra.

An active community member, David served as Fire Chief of the East Palmyra Fire Department until health challenges prompted his resignation. He remained deeply involved in the firefighting community as a member of the Wayne County Fire Chiefs Association and the fire police. Additionally, he gave his time as a volunteer with the Boy Scouts and assisted with sporting events for his children.

David cherished time with his children, often traveling to North Carolina and Connecticut to visit them, creating lasting memories along the way.

David will be remembered by children, Cara (Dano) Ferons and Josh Wilck; siblings, Diane (Duane) Fagner and John (Carol) Wilck; many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. David was predeceased by his father, Roy Wilck and an infant sister, Karen Wilck.
