February 19, 1932 - January 9, 2026

Our cherished mother and grandmother, age 93, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026, and is now in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Betty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend and was dearly loved by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed. 

She is survived by her children: Katherine Harris (Carl), Joanne Miller (Russell), Sandra Guenter (Douglas), and her daughter-in-law Debbie Wright. By her grandchildren: Jennifer Ingersoll (Todd), Tara Garcia (Russell), Laura Parsons, Amy Smith, Michael Black (Amanda), Jessica Wright (Matt Henner) and Brendan Wright (Maddie). As well as by several great- grandchildren and nephews.

Betty was predeceased by her husband Herbert Wright, Sr (2007), by her beloved son Herbert Wright Jr (2023), and by her brother Stanley Bailey (2024).

She was born on February 19, 1932, and was raised and lived her entire life in the town of Wolcott. She attended Leavenworth Central High school - graduating class of 1951. On October 4, 1952, she married Herb and lovingly raised their four children. A talented seamstress, she had her own at-home business for many years. She also loved baking, knitting and gardening. Her Christian faith was the absolute center of her life and she was always a very active member of the church and choir. Betty’s beautiful voice showed through in her passion for singing.

Calling hours will be held from 12pm until 2pm, followed by a memorial service at 2pm on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at the Red Creek Westbury United Methodist Church, 6837 Church Street, Red Creek, NY 13143. Reception immediately following at the Church.
