SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse women’s soccer team (4-5-3) is set to take on the Boston College Eagles (8-4-0) on Saturday Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. at the SU Soccer Stadium. Both teams come into Saturday’s match 1-2-0 in Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) play.

Saturday is Alumni Day for the Orange. The program will honor former players and coaches at the match on Saturday. The program began play in 1996 under the direction of head coach April Kater, who will return for Alumni Day along with former assistant coach Maren Rojas. The list of former student athletes returning includes all-time leading scorer Erin O’Grady as well as members of two of the last three graduating classes.

SCOUTING BOSTON COLLEGE

Boston College travels to Syracuse coming off a five-match home stretch, which included victories against Harvard and Pittsburgh. The Eagles posted an impressive six-game winning streak at the beginning of the season. Five of the six wins were shutouts, but the streak was snapped by a 3-2 loss against South Florida. Sophomore forward Hayley Dowd leads the team in points 19 (8g, 3a), while senior Stephanie McCaffrey is second on the team with 18 points (6g, 6a).

SERIES HISTORY

Syracuse is 3-7-2 in the series against Boston College. The last time Syracuse defeated Boston College was in 2001 as BIG EAST Conference rivals, where the Orange pulled out a 3-2 victory in overtime.

LAST TIME OUT
