Marion vs. Clyde-Savannah Clyde Savannah wins in 4 Marion Varsity Volleyball hosted Clyde on Thursday, October 6th at Marion High School.

Marion won the first game 2516, and then Clyde won the rest 25-18, and 25-22, and 25-17.

Marion Stats: Meredith DeYoung had 7 digs, 4 kills, and 5 aces, Grace Colburn had 5 aces and 1 dig, Alysha Kuhn had 2 blocks, 1 dig, 3 kills, 5 assists, and 4 aces, Cassidy Loveless had 3 kills and 3 aces, Faith Rinella had 3 assists, 1 block, and 1 ace.

Clyde Stats: Taegan St. John had 4 aces, 2 kills, 12 assists, and 2 digs, Jaida Larsen had 2 aces, 8 kills and 1 block, Madison Secor had 2 aces, 3 kills, and 3 blocks.

Swimming October 8 Pal-Mac vs. Mercy Pal-Mac (5-3, 4-0) hosted Mercy (5-3) for their homecoming. There were some great races with less than a 1 second difference.

Mercy’s swimmer, Elli Kinausz out touched Elizabeth Share by 0.04 seconds in the 100 Fly. Both girls are top 4 in all of section 5 in the 100 Fly and the race did not disappoint.

In the 500 Freestyle Pal-Mac’s Angelina Trapp touched the pad just 0.29 seconds faster than Mercy’s Emilia Carey.

Pal-Mac’s Katie shoots out dove Kate Pelletier in diving, winning that event 144.85 to 139.50, a very close score for diving.

Gananda-Wayne vs Our Lady of Mercy: Mercy boasted two double winners: Elli Knausz in the 100 Freestyle (57.80) and the 100 Breaststroke (1:15.68); Emilia Carey in the 200 IM (2:23.52) and the 100 Butterfly (1:08.29). Mercy also placed first in all three relays. Gananda-Wayne’s notable swims include 8th grader Haley Conner swimming for a narrow second place in the 100 Freestyle with a time of 27.48. Final Score for the meet was Mercy (4-3) 116 points; Gananda-Wayne (3-2): 55 points.

October 6

Pal-Mac vs. Midlakes-Red Jacket The Pal-Mac (6-2, 4-0) girls swim team performed exceptionally well versus Midlakes-Red Jacket (26, 2-2), securing a win by a score of 100-78 and the Finger Lakes League title. This is Pal-Mac’s 4th straight title and 7 in the last 11 years. Pal-Mac coaches Oaks, De-Sol, and Fessler are so proud of the hard work the girls put into each of their events. Even though first place finishes are important it was the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place finishes that made the difference tonight. Midlakes-Red Jacket had some great events, including a first place finish by Cecileigh Perri in the 50 yard freestyle (28.85) and the 200 yard freestyle relay (Bugbee, Spence, Brooks, Perri). Pal-Mac took first in all other events, with Angelina Trapp (200 yard freestyle and 500 yard Freestyle), Jillian Anthony (200yd IM and 100yd Backstroke), Katie Shoots (diving), Elizabeth Share (100yd Butterfly and 100 yd Breastroke), Danielle McDonald (100yd Freestyle), the 200yd Medley Relay team (Anthony, Kubasiewicz, McDonald, Trapp), and the 400yd Freestyle Relay team (McDonald, Anthony, Trapp, Share).

Boys Varsity Soccer October 7 Newark vs Greece Olympia Greece won 4-0 The Newark Reds honored their seniors Jose Ventura, Ethan Rossell, Nik Tumbelekis, and Eddie Olivera Plain as they took on Greece Olympia. Greece defeat Newark by a score of 4-0. Scoring for Greece Olympia was William Buttino, Mohamed Mohamed, Gage Carlenius, and Josh Palmerton. Greece had 17 shots on goal and their goalie Dylan Mohile had 6 saves. Newark had 5 shots on goal and their goalie Lucas Herd had 13 saves.

Varsity Football October 7 Wayne vs Newark Wayne won 17-6 Wayne Varsity Football Team beat Newark 17-6 to move to 4-2 on the season. Alek Reynolds, kicked a 34 yard field goal and had an interception on defense the following series to secure the win. Alek also had two successful onside kicks too.

Sean Nellis was 11 for 16 for 91 yards and a touchdown. He also had an interception on defense too. Eli Mackey and Elliot Santos each had a sack on defense. Wayne started the season 0-2 and have now won 4 straight.
